When to Travel To Napa Valley

Napa Valley’s shoulder season is April-May, September-October. This is the best time to visit. These months are still pleasant and there are fewer tourists. You will still see the fall colors in the Fall season. In the spring, you will see the first signs of spring: the blooming of vineyards and mustard flowers.

To be honest, Napa has been to my home many times in winter. We were able to secure reservations at our favorite restaurants, wineries and hotels at the best rates. The Winter can be harsh on the vineyards and vines, but California is warm and sunny.

Mid-week in October or April is the best time to travel if you want to save money. Many restaurants and hotels offer discounts during these periods.

How to get around Napa Valley

The most convenient way to travel around Napa is by car. It’s best to rent a car if you are tasting wine. There are many car rental companies in the area. Travelling with friends is the best way to travel. Spend your Napa vacation with friends and family to make it memorable. The more, the better!

Napa Valley is located one hour north from San Francisco and one half hour west of Sacramento. You can book a variety of day trips from San Francisco or San Diego to Napa Valley.

Beringer Vineyards

Beringer Vineyards is one the most historical wineries in Napa Valley. It was established in 1876 and is the ideal place to learn more about California’s history of winemaking. This is a must-see on any Napa trip, from their Rhine House to their world-famous wineries.

The self-guided tour through their vast caves is the highlight. These caves, which date back over 100 years, were dug by Chinese workers. These caves are a fascinating piece in history that is well worth the trip.
